Tara air aircraft veers off runway at Manthali airport

A Tara air plane skidded off the runway at Manthali airport in Ramechhap on Monday morning. Consistent with bhim raj rai, media manager at the yeti airways, which owns tara air, the incident took place after one of the tyres of the plane burst at the same time as landing at 9:38am. The dornier do228 plane had taken off from Tribhuvan global airport, Kathmandu for Lukla at 8:49am, however due to awful climate, the aircraft turned into diverted to manthali, said Rai. Rai said all passengers onboard the aircraft are safe and the plane sustained minor scratches inside the incident.

“There was a runway tour at ramechhap airport related to our dornier do228 plane,” yeti airways stated in twitter. The airways said it was working with the civil aviation authority and ramechhap airport officials to dispose of the plane from the runway. Flights to lukla from manthali were halted due to the accident. In advance on april 14, 3 people had been killed while a summit air aircraft collided with two parked helicopters even as starting up for Ramechhap at Lukla airport.
