Chairperson of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal today said that the party and government should be cautious of any attempt by counter-revolutionary forces to reverse the hard-earned political changes.
Addressing a programme organised by Rautahat-Kathmandu Contract Forum here today, Dahal said the NCP (NCP) and its government had both opportunities to transform Nepal into a prosperous country and also the challenges that could be posed by counter-revolutionary forces.
“When a change-seeking force runs the government, it is susceptible to mistakes because it does not have past experience of running a government,” he said without elaborating. Dahal said the merger of CPN-UML and CPN-MC and implementation of the constitution had paved the way for revolutionary changes in the country, but the government and the party needed to be vigilant against forces that might want to derail new changes.
“We have framed a new constitution establishing inclusive democracy. We have made a commitment that we will make gradual amendments to the constitution, which is a dynamic document,” Dahal added. He said all grounds had already been prepared to take the country to a new age.
